Every time there's a rain event the ocean gets an upset stomach. While that's disturbing to sailors, it's exciting for us. Incoming tide, add two to three feet.
Pretty incredible sport. After getting the equipment it's free- nobody to tell you when you can get in the water, nobody telling you to get out. Get in before the sun is even making the horizon light and get out when the lights on the Newport bridge are brighter than the sky. Drive twice the speed limit to get there, and half the speed limit on the way home. Think about the next time you are going so toiling at work ain't so bad. Show pics, videos, tell stories to relive the fun. Talk about the times you feel you almost died( stretch the truth a tad) to add some life to an otherwise boring story. See the sand on the floor of the truck and smile. Feel the endorphins coursing through your veins for hours and hours after you get out. Just try to get out of bed to the next morning when the slightest move hurts. Stayin' alive. Putting off playing golf for when I can't do this anymore (50 years from now).
Cell phone camera taking video from parking lot kinda captures the feel of the waves yesterday. They were big strong and well formed-easy.
Yesterday it was big with perfectly shaped strong organized waves. Water temp 38, coldest of the year, finally the temp it should be. Most of the winter it was 46- too warm!
