BOYCOTT POLLUTING companies- they (and WE) are ruining our planet, Eradicating MILLIONS of species. If you wish to be proactive about global warming, don’t buy their products, and take a few moments to tell them why. Enough letters= they listen. Declining profits= change in corporate mentality. Change in corporate mentality= positive change. For you, for your kid’s kids. For MILLIONS OF innocent ecosystems and plants/animals/insects/marine mammals/etc. Remember, they don’t give a shit about grey whales dying from starvation, toad and salamander extinction, snow leopard extinction, wanna read a list of one million species? No you do not. Just know that it’s UP TO YOU. That person tRUMP cares not one iota about anyone but tRUMP, so do not wait for our cowardly gelding government republicans to act- it’s up to us. If you do not recycle, eat red meat a lot, drive those STUPID huge SUVs, etc- it’s you who are part of the problem. We (all of us) need to change in valid, meaningful ways, or our way of life is over. There’s no tomorrow. “Tomorrow” was twenty years ago. My town, Trumbull, Connecticut, does not one thing towards anything green. It’s not a green community, it’s a black one. Want plastic bags at the grocery store? No problemo! Sidewalks for bikers??? Hell no! Drive your car everywhere. Bike racks at the schools??? Hell no! Have your mommy drive (she has to because there are unsafe sidewalks). Anything tangible about green initiatives? Not that I can tell. Being environmentally responsible is for NERDS as far as our culture is concerned, and I’m afraid that our town is a “normal” American town. If that is the case, I’m sure that all the efforts to save the planet from doom is a big waste of time. link: https://www.peri.umass.edu/toxic-100-air-polluters-index-2018-report-based-on-2015-data My evolving theory of polluting tariffs has quickly changed to a grass roots movement (one member so far-me) of a recognition of the biggest greenhouse gas emitters. Publicize the names of the polluters. Spread the word. Don’t buy any of their products. Write them letters telling them why. “If your company is destroying the world in search of profits, I will no longer buy your product. YOUR COMPANY SUCKS!” Its taken me years to crystallize emotions into action, and I think about this subject on a daily basis. There are a lot of entities doing very good work to change things, but they are HORRIBLE self-promoters. We gotta change that. I’d like to read about these companies good work in mainstream media, but so far it’s just been by word of mouth. Not good enough! WANNA EDUCATE YOURSELF? I did! I looked up the biggest environmental demon in our country besides our own government. DuPont/Dow chemicals. I’ve put a screenshot of this website’s analysis of DuPont’s criminal environmental record... they should be shut down and jailed for life. This country belongs to all of us, not to them. They have acted with impunity for over a hundred years, figuring that it’s cheaper to pay fines than to be smart about the earth we share and need to pass off to our offspring. Common everyday products you buy have an environmental price tag that is invisible to all of us, it’s NOT PRETTY. Those companies are simply satisfying our demand for everyday solutions to our issues, so it’s part corporate criminals but mainly us who are ruining our own spaceship earth. Link: scroll down to the chapter about “the environment” and you can read dow’s Criminal environmental history. https://www.corp-research.org/dupont PS- After doing a little bit of research, I’m doubtful about the chances of changing corporate America- boycotting them into sound environmental stewardship. They’re just way too big, and there’s probably not much a few hundred people can do to fight a huge company like Dow/DuPont.
