The Environment...
Matters!

tRUMP- the enemy of all mankind, summarized in this article.

In the late 1980’s I sponsored an essay contest at Trumbull high school on the subject of global warming.

Way way way back then it was called “the greenhouse effect.”

I tried to offer to the school district prizes (trees planted in town parks) for the “winners” but at that time winners were not recognized because they didn’t want there to be any “losers,” everyone “participated,” remember that era??? Absolute stupidity, whatever- I digress from the far more important point that I’m trying to make.

Global warming, greenhouse effect, call it what you want to, has been in the news for decades. There have been plenty of opportunities for civilization to address our self-destruction, but we haven’t, with Democrats proposing solutions and republicans blocking those efforts and providing legislative refuge for manufacturers, oil and coal companies, heavy industries- all in the name of profit for few with the expense column paid by all.

Me rubs me chin- “hmmmmm, let’s see, profit vs. civilization’s destruction? Which is more important?” Why do a few determine the future for the entirety of humanity? It doesn’t make sense, nor is it fair!

As the “cool” republicans and climate deniers laugh, scoff, and joke about democrat’s efforts to deal with the subject, the environmentalists wonder why everyone doesn’t care about controlling our behavior on climate issues. Republican climate deniers pull millions of followers along with them into their camp as if one cannot be a loyal red-blooded Republican if you believe in attempting to do something about global warming.

This Mini-War has always been on the fourth or tenth page of the newspapers, info forgotten or ignored by all as soon as the paper was tossed into the garbage. Not important to ANYONE.

I equate the postponement of dealing with climate change to a parent warning their child about homework during a long weekend. Huge term paper due Monday morning, the kid had weeks to get it done, but it’s sunday night and he hasn’t even started it yet!

Now we have this person tRUMP holding the reins, at the helm, steering the humanity boat all by himself- controlling the fate of the world all by himself like the last scene from the “Thelma and Louise” movie when the car launches off the cliff. Twenty years from now, everyone- democrats AND republicans alike will look back at today and wonder why (of course the republicans will blame the dems with some made up excuse). ASSHOLES!

Why, why, why didn't we do ANYTHING about global warming when we had a chance, everyone will ask.

Why why why the HELL did we allow tRUMP and his corrupt cronies and non-thinking supporters kidnap our government and allow our environment to collapse?

Only when these people start to have their seaside mansions get destroyed by the water... only then will these corrupt billionaires take notice of what they have done at everyone elses’ expense.

Only when the red states that support tRump see their agricultural crops die from heat and drought with dust-bowl conditions wake up and wonder WHY WHY WHY they supported tRUMP. They have only themselves to blame for their own destruction. Too bad they took all of us down with them at the same time!

This article says what I’ve been thinking about this subject for years, and just as I finish this blog entry I have come to the conclusion that each and every tRUMP supporter shares in the guilt and shares in the responsibility for tRUMP’S utter criminality and ignorant greedy neglect on this issue. Oh, and tRUMP supporters, please do not even try to tell us that you are worried about climate change yet still support tRUMP- that is IMPOSSIBLE. You can't have it both ways. You cannot want to do something about climate change and global warming yet still root for, support and like who tRUMP is and what he has and is doing to destroy our climate all inin the name of supporting his biggest donors.

BOTTOM LINE- if you support tRUMP, you are also a defacto climate change denier, and as such, are responsible for not doing anything about global warming. My question to you is this: are YOU personally profiting from supporting trump’s anti- global warming position, and if you aren’t, then why do you support him on this issue? If global warming science is real to you (how can it NOT BE???), then how on earth could you ever support the one person on this earth who has made it a personal crusade AGAINST climate change action?

Climate change is a very personal issue for me (it should be for everyone). I'm on my fifth decade of almost exclusive outdoor work, and as such I have noticed how our ecosystem has changed. I bet you didn't know this:

It's windier today than in 1975. 10-15% windier. I noticed a few years ago that the wind had been blowing for about three weeks. Water the trees, repot them, tie them up... one day I got to the point that I was PISSED! I stormed over to the computer and looked it up. I'll put the link at the bottom of this blog.

So, the world's ecosystems are not just hotter, drier, wetter, stormier, more polluted, but they are windier too, something that only outdoor workers could ever notice.
