We split wood today

Using wood for heat is one of my passions. I oversold what we split was this year. No biggie. I stack the split wood in the cages, put em into the greenhouse, and it’s ready to burn in a month.

This wood was split in July- almost gone!

Our wood, once split, never touches the ground! Clean, clean, clean!

I saw these fibers under this ash log outer bark. Hmmmm, me wonders... fibers. I wondered what Native American Indians would have made from these? This is the stuff one thinks about when toiling with hearing protectors around really loud machinery.
Picture
Phloem tissue just under ash tree bark showing ash bark beetle damage, causal agent for the extinction of ash trees in connecticut. The beetles are the vector for a biological disease, but no tree can survive this type of attack. Human-induced Darwinism at work. Humans are destroying their own environment. We are doomed!

So what can individual Americans do about climate change? Vote republicans out of office! Did you see the news today? We are the only country in the world that disagrees with climate change. Siding with oil companies, coal companies for votes, tRUMP exposes his small minded approach to governance and does nothing towards reversing this horrible trend of global warming. This bark beetle is one of the many symptoms, how much more proof does tRUMP need?
If you got married, had kids, you must have a heart and a vision for their future. You changed diapers, corrected homework, taught right from wrong. You’ll see them marry and have kids of their own. What environmental future do they have though? If you have paid any attention to the nonpartisan news, you already know we are threatened as a species! Our grand children will inherit an unrecognizable planet. What do we do about it? We vote that tRUMP into office, light our huge houses, drive those stupid big SUVs, use plastic with no regard for what happens after we chuck it away for removal.

Bring this stuff up at a party, your friends will look at you like you have five heads. At some point, though, it will be on everyone’s minds.
